The 8th Chennai Photowalk

I have been in this city for 29 Years now. But there are a lot of places I have never been to. Topping the list would be Panagal park and I finally got to visit the park (It was the starting point of the 8th Chennai Photowalk.) Suprisingly the park is clean. There were even a few people who had come there to spend their evening.. I landed inside Panagal Park really early(Keeping up with my craze for punctuality) and was introduced to a Sharanya Manivannan by Chandroo, I actually needed 10 minutes to figure out who she is. I think I should get myself admitted to some Old Age Home.

Photographers started gathering around the bust of King George V and the walk started out at about 1730 hrs. Lots of fun. We stopped at Madras Bhel Puri for a snack break at about 1900 hrs before continuing towards the Residency Towers which was our Destination.

Dilip has been working with the Aravanis( If you don't remember Priya Babu from the 7th Chennai Photowalk click here) and the Aravanis need funding to setup an office. Dillip is passionate about his work and he gave a long talk about the History of the Aravanis and the problems they are facing (which will need a post by itself)

The walk ended at about 2000hrs. As usual "A Sunday Well Spent"
Yes We will be doing the walk again on June 22nd 2008, do join us. It is fun guaranteed and you might even find Long Lost Friends and Old Neighbours. (I met Aravind during the 6th Photowalk and yesterday I met Pradeep.)

well if you have managed to see the pangal park thats really good.. because very few ppl in chennai have actually gone inside the park.. and some people dont even know that there is a park there to begin with.. as its hidden by hoardings from all the sides ..

@ani the fact is that I hate the very area.I knew that a park existed there. But the very thought of the painfully slow traffic which makes my knees tremble and the time taken to park a car... I opted out.But that was till last week.

i know what you mean.. considering i have stayed there for a good part of my life..
prettyy accessible for shopping though.. but not exactly an ideal place for living..until and unless you get used to all the hustle and bustle and yes the very slow traffic..

just wonder how it would be after the flyover is built completely??

@ani you went shopping there *gasps* I went there once and I could not stand the crowd. Any store you get into it is extremely crazy. I hope and Wish and Pray that the Flyover will solve the problem. Cheers!!!

hehe well yes.. i have gone there shopping.. you get the best costume jewellery for dance to hire there.. and apart from other random bits and pieces.... and the first time i went there.. i just had to stand in the direction which i wanted to go.. and rest assured.. i was carried .. which is practically.. pushed about to that side..

nice experience..which i generally try not to repeat as much as possible..

with the flyover coming.. doubt if it would reduce the burden.. might inturn increase it..

Oh my God *Looks at her in terror* The guys there are frickingly cheap and molest women irrespective of age. Hope you did not have any bad experience.

OH so you dance HUH!!! What kind of dance? I am an expert in salsa with pettai rap, which combines to form the dandanakka dance. learnt it directly from my asaan,"dandanakka karadi" T.Rajendar.Cheers!!!

Hey Usha Welcome to my blog? The Chennai Photowalk was started by Chandrachoodan he blogs at www.selectiveamnesia.org Suprisingly most people who turn up are bloggers. But there are a few other folks who join in after reading about it in the papers. When you are in Chennai do join us. We walk on the 2nd Sunday of every month.
